Fleet Maintenance
Scheduled preventive maintenance and repair for business fleets — vans, pickups, box trucks and Class 8 equipment.
For a business that runs vehicles, the expensive number is not the repair bill. It is the unplanned downtime — the delivery that did not happen, the crew standing around, the customer who called someone else. Preventive maintenance is worth doing because it converts unpredictable failures into scheduled, cheaper ones.
All Motors Center services business fleets across the Spokane area, and we can cover a mixed fleet in one place rather than splitting it between a car shop and a truck shop.
What we cover
Service vans and pickups, box trucks, and Class 8 tractors including Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Mack, International and Volvo. Gas and diesel. If your fleet spans all of those, that is exactly the situation this is designed for.
Building a schedule that fits how you run
A maintenance schedule based on the calendar is wrong for a truck doing 4,000 miles a month and wrong for one doing 400. We build the interval around how your equipment is actually used — mileage, engine hours, or calendar time, whichever genuinely drives wear for that vehicle.
A typical program covers oil and filter service at the correct interval for the duty cycle, fuel filters and water separators on diesels, air system checks and brake measurement, tire rotation and tread depth tracking, driveline and suspension inspection, battery and charging system testing, and cooling system condition.
We track what was done and when, per vehicle, so you are not relying on someone's memory of when that van was last in.
DOT inspections, staggered
Commercial vehicles need an annual periodic inspection. We schedule those across your fleet so they do not all fall due in the same fortnight and leave you short of equipment — and we do the resulting repairs in the same visit, so an inspection costs you one day rather than two.
On-site service
For a lot of fleets the real cost of a service is not the labour, it is a driver spending two hours getting a vehicle to a shop and back. Our mobile service can carry out scheduled maintenance on your yard, working through several vehicles in a visit while they sit where they normally sit. For fleets that run early mornings or overnight, that scheduling flexibility is often worth more than the labour rate.
Winter readiness
In this climate a pre-winter check pays for itself the first time it prevents a no-start. On diesels: fuel treated against gelling before the cold arrives rather than after, current fuel filters, working block heaters — a surprising number are simply dead — and batteries with genuine cranking capacity. Across the fleet: tires appropriate for the conditions, wipers and washer fluid rated for the cold, and coolant tested to the right protection level.
Getting started
Tell us what you run, how it is used, and where the pain is now. We will put together a schedule and give you costs before anything is committed. If a vehicle in the fleet is close to the end of its economic life, we will say that too — it is more useful to you than a maintenance plan for something you should be replacing.

Frequently Asked
How small can a fleet be to make this worthwhile?
There is no minimum that makes sense as a rule. If you run even a handful of vehicles and an unexpected failure costs you a working day, scheduled maintenance is already worth it. Tell us what you run and we will be straight about whether a formal program helps you.
Can you handle both our vans and our semi trucks?
Yes, and that is a large part of the point. We cover gas and diesel from service vans and pickups through box trucks to Class 8 tractors, so a mixed fleet does not have to be split between a car shop and a truck shop.
Can you service our vehicles at our location?
Yes. Mobile service can work through several vehicles in a visit while they sit where they normally sit. For many fleets the real cost of a shop visit is a driver spending two hours in transit, not the labour.
How do you decide the service intervals?
By how the equipment is actually used — mileage, engine hours or calendar, whichever genuinely drives wear on that vehicle. A schedule based on the calendar is wrong for a truck doing 4,000 miles a month and equally wrong for one doing 400.
Do you keep records for our DOT compliance?
Yes. We track what was inspected and corrected per vehicle, and we stagger annual inspections across the fleet so they do not all fall due at once and leave you short of equipment.
What should we do before winter?
On diesels: treat fuel against gelling before the cold arrives rather than after, fit current fuel filters, confirm block heaters actually work, and test batteries for real cranking capacity. Across the fleet: appropriate tires, cold-rated washer fluid and wipers, and coolant tested to the right protection level.
